Be Stylish, Be Yourself
I was thinking this morning, why don’t women wear what they truly like and feel comfortable in as they get older?
Why do they feel they have to change their style just because of their age?
Maybe it’s because of what their family, neighbours, friends or acquaintances might say, or worrying about what others will think.
They might even feel self-conscious about certain colours or think they shouldn’t wear certain clothes because of their age or as a mother or a mother-in-law. And why do we often see them dressing in dull colours like black, grey and brown, blending into the background?
Why do people find it weird or say “Budhi ghodi lal lagam”? The whole thing about this nonsense “Log kya kahenge”.
Remember, as long as you’re alive, you’re still full of life and have so much to offer to the world!
Be a little braver, argue, discuss, but wear what you wish to.
After all, it’s your life, and you have every right to dress the way you want to. Don’t make age-appropriate clothing a norm for people of a certain age.

I know some women who can’t wear a particular colour because their parents-in-law don’t approve, their husband doesn’t like that colour. It’s sad to discourage people from wearing their favourite colour because of a bad omen associated with a particular colour, and the price has to be paid by the daughters-in-law and granddaughters.
It’s really sad to discourage people from being able to wear their favourite colour, stylish clothes, footwear, or that hot red lipstick only because they have reached a certain age.
I think it’s high time we change our perspective and stop judging, stereotyping and calling people out because they aren’t doing what people of their age were doing a few years ago.
Let’s paint our world with bold hues, wear red lipstick, and embrace life on our terms, breaking free from society’s age-old norms! Let’s not judge people by what they wear, how they look and style themselves and wear makeup.
