Someone Came Visiting Me Last Night
Curtains were drawn and windows closed
Wherein lives a single soul
Some sounds? Yes, barking dogs around and traffic within her frame
The breeze at her lazy best
Detached leaves conversing with the breeze that’s still
Clouds pinned here and there
To see all of this, was satisfied
So, I lay on my bed for a peaceful sleep
Day’s jigsaw puzzle now falling into place
There I saw some light
To my surprise, moonlight tiptoed and perched itself on to my window sill
It perched itself to know how I’m doing
I smiled and turned back; by then, it had faded away
Alas! The clouds played spoilsport
